Wrought Iron Windows

Wrought iron windows are a secure wrought iron attachment that attaches to the exterior of your window, enclosing the window. When most of us think of wrought iron windows, we think of wrought iron security windows, with grills or bars designed to protect the home from intruders.

And, indeed, wrought iron windows are great security features. Iron bars can be very difficult to penetrate, making them a great deterrent to thieves. However, these wrought iron windows are often very unattractive, and serve simply to remind us that there are people we need protection from.

Not so with today’s wrought iron windows. Wrought iron windows still provide security, but they’re designed so beautifully today that you’ll love having them on your home. Nearly any design you can imagine is available in wrought iron windows, so they can be fashioned to suit any home style.

Wrought iron used to make decorative items is generally made out of the purest form of iron. Because of this, it is somewhat more resistant to rust than cast iron. For this reason, a wrought iron window is both decorative and durable.

Today, wrought iron windows are made by iron artists, experienced in the field of creating standard or custom designs that both protect the home and function as outdoor art. You can choose to have all of your windows covered with wrought iron, which looks especially nice if your home is Spanish style, or select one or two windows for wrought iron, making them the focal point of your home.

Wrought iron is also extensively used for gates and fence decorations. Whether it’s used to make wrought iron security gates or simply to embellish a gate or fence post, using wrought iron makes a beautiful and classic statement.

If you have some wrought iron on your windows or doors, you might also consider adding some to your landscape for balance. Wrought iron window boxes, planters or sculpture is a nice way to continue the look into your yard. Or consider adding a wrought iron arbor or trellis. The beautiful heavy black is a lovely contrast to the delicate flowers blooming there.

No matter how you use wrought iron in your home it makes a classic statement. Using wrought iron to embellish windows, doors, gates and other outdoor accessories is a wonderful way to make your home stand out from the rest.
